Mr. LoCurto has practiced law successfully in Florida for 28 years. He is a highly skilled litigator and trial attorney and has handled a broad spectrum of commercial and civil litigation cases ranging from basic contract disputes to complex intellectual property claims. Mr. LoCurto’s legal skill and talent were demonstrated early in his career when he won a multi-million-dollar jury verdict in Palm Beach County, that included a substantial punitive damage award, in a complex commercial case that garnered substantial newspaper coverage in South Florida
After relocating his practice to Tallahassee in 2010 Mr. LoCurto also began handling a wide range of plaintiff’s labor and employment cases in federal and state courts under Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, OSHA and both public and private Whistleblower cases. In 2014 Mr. LoCurto obtained a favorable published decision from the First District Court of Appeals in Tallahassee which reversed the Public Employees Relations Commission in favor of his client who was a career service employee unlawfully dismissed by the Dept. of Transportation.
Mr. LoCurto is also an accomplished appellate lawyer. He stands among the youngest Florida Attorneys to brief, argue and win a case before the Florida Supreme Court. The Supreme Court’s decision in PNR v. Beacon Property Mgmt., Inc., 842 So.2d 773 (Fla. 2003) reversed a bad decision by the Fourth District Court of Appeals in Mr. LoCurto’s case that essentially gutted Florida’s all important consumer protection statute, Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, Fla. Stat § 501.201 et seq. (“FDUTPA”). The published Supreme Court decision in favor of Mr. LoCurto's client, a small family owned Italian restaurant against a commercial landlord continues to be an important decision in favor of consumer protection rights in Florida. Winning the PNR case before the Florida Supreme Court landed Mr. LoCurto on the front page of the Broward Daily Business Review in the Spring of 2003. .
